Past Memories - Present Day - Future Aspirations

Week 1 - Monday:

Today we had to chose 10 items from our past and present which could be made up of photos, objects and items of ephemera. We had to make sure that these items were representable as they are going to be used to fuel this weeks tasks.
Picking these items where fairly hard as I didn't know which ones were going to be best to take and also which ones would represent me the most!
Once I got to college we started to draw our items using different forms of media while making sure that they expressed the item and the memories that accompany them.

Here are the pictures that I drew:
1) Thorpe park:
I have been to Thorpe park many times with different people and always have a great time.
I never get bored of the thrill of rides!

  2) 18th birthday:
This pictures memories came from the 18th birthday candle. I went paint balling with my friends and had great fun shooting each other and getting covered in paint.

3) Rubik's cube:
I have chosen a Rubik's cube to represent both my past and my present. There are three meanings for me:
1)Life in complicated like a Rubik cube
2) I like a challenge throughout life
3) And it is also one of my goals to be able to complete a Rubik's cube!!
4) Ballroom dancing:
This pictures memories come from dancing at my primary school. I used to love going dancing every week with all my friends and it is one of my most favourite memories from when I was young.
I am however, disappointed that I didn't pursue this further as I went on to secondary school.

 5) Rose:
This rose was given to me by my boyfriend on our first valentines. It reminds me of all the great times we have had together.
He is my past, present and hopefully my future.

 6) Cirque Du Soleil:
I went to see Cirque Du Soleil with my sister and friend. It was a great experience and I would love to go again.

7) Locker keys
This picture represents my secondary school and the many year I spent there throughout my GCSE's ans A levels. I have mixed good and bad memories from school but Im looking forward to what the future has to hold.

8) Letters:
Even though I live in the same house as my mum, every now and again we send each other letters about how we are feeling or anything that it troubling us! I have a collection of these letters and they are a great reminder of the past and bring back many memories.

9) Game boy:
Since I was young, I have always played games from board games such as Cluedo and the British railway game to computer games such as Sims and Xbox. However the Game boy Advanced is one of the earliest consoles that I played and I used to be addicted!

10) Primary leavers shirt:
My primary school, Maypole, was a great place where I shared many laughs and memories with my class.

The experience of having to chose just ten object that had to represent my life and many memories was quite a difficult task and harder to do that I first anticipated. However,  I did enjoy the task of having to draw not just my items but express the memories though them.
My favourite picture that I drew is the Letters and Cirque Du Soleil because I feel that the layout of the pictures are a lot more interesting compared to others such as the Rose and Ballroom dancing pictures.
Over all, the experience of this day presented a good opportunity for me to look back at my past and enabled me to interpret my memories in various ways.
